4th Edition of the RE4SG Conference & Exhibition 2024 at Kigali Marriott Hotel

Energy Week conference organized by Energy Private Developers EPD in partnership with Strathclyde University/Global Renewable Center, “Renewable Energy for sustainable Growth’’ 4th Edition 2024, conference and exhibition, ventured into the Rwanda’s Renewable Energy market and provided a platform to international businesses and partnerships.

Energy Private Developers also celebrated a significant milestone, 10 years of empowering Rwanda’s energy. This journey led by Energy Private Developers as a pivotal in transforming nation’s energy landscape, bringing Rwanda closer to a sustainable energy on the basis of cumulative connectivity rate in Rwanda 2024 is 80.1% of Rwandan households of which 56.2% connected to the national grid and 23.9% accessing through off-grid systems (mainly solar). This rate shows the contribution of Energy Private Sector especially in off-grid areas and some mini-grids are connected to national grid.

This conference highlighted the investment opportunities, Incentives and policy framework in Rwanda’s Renewable energy sector by engaging both private and public sectors players in a networking, techno-economic innovation and knowledge exchange that will scale-up the use of renewable energy in Rwanda. In this conference, different global energy experts were invited to exchange knowledge with other experts including the Rwandans, African and others from different continents.

Different ministries attended the conference, we extend our appreciation to the minister of Infrastructure Transport and Energy Dr. GASORE Jimmy, Minister of Climate Action of Scotland, and Private Sector Federation / CEO- Stephen RUZIBIZA who attended the conference and shared experiences on energy sector.

Different companies showcased their technologies during exhibition, Minister of Infrastructure Dr. GASORE Jimmy and Dr. Ivan TWAGIRASHEMA unveiled ENGIE Energy Access’s Product – All in One- (Includes Battery and Inverter in one System). This was followed by different Discussions and Knowledge Exchange through Different Panel discussions and Presentations.

Minister of Climate Action Alasdair in his
remarks pointed that the Scottish
Government spent £46 million across its
international programs, £26 million on
international development specifically, and
20% of that was on climate and renewable
energy partnership work.

celebrating 10 years’ anniversary. I was glad
to be among the founding members of this
association and chairman from that time up to
today. When we started, we started with 20
members in this association. Today, we have
more than 200 companies regrouped in
different subsectors in this association.
