Clean Cooking Capacity Building of EPD Members

Participants in the Clean Cooking Capacity Building Training

EPD in partnership with Chamber of Skills Craft (CSC)Koblenz/Partner Africa Organized 4 days of Capacity Development in Clean cooking where 45 participants from 35 companies were presented.  

On 16th August 2022 EPD CEO Mr. Sanday Kabarebe Officially opened the training by acknowledging Patterner Africa for the good partnership in developing the capacities of company members in the Energy Sector.

In his opening remarks, EPD CEO encouraged the participant to grab this Opportunity and use it effectively as the Rwandan government has prioritized the clean cooking Sector by reducing the % of households that use firewood for cooking from  79.90% in 2017 to 42% by 2024; to achieve this the government has put in place Clean Cooking Result-Based Financing (CC-RBF) to Address the affordability of clean cooking technologies by the end users in the Rural era.

  • Concepts, trends, and challenges in clean cooking
  • Government Policies
  • Materials and Standards
  • Financing
  • Best practices.
  • During the 4days of the training, participants got time to hear from different Government institutions who presented on the clean cooking program by the Government, Result Based Finance, different financing opportunities, Standards, and stove testing Process.
  • Trainees took time to connect among them and showcase their technologies and received feedback on how they can be improved and be competitive in the market.

On the closing day, EPD director of Operation Mr. Regis T. Uwayezu in his word of remarks congratulated all the participants who succeeded in their busy schedule to join this important workshop, he continues by thanking our patterner in this project CSC/Koblenz/Patterner Africa.
